Winter Tips:

Even though it is winter time in Texas, there are plenty of things you should still stay on top of.

If your sprinkler system has not been winterized, do it now as it is never too late.  Make sure the system is turned off at the control box (most likely in your garage).  Make sure that the water supply line valve is off as well.  If you do not have a main supply line shut off valve, I would strongly suggest having one put in.  If there ever is a problem with the system and you need to shut it off, the water will need to be shut off at the water meter.  That means no water supplied to the house or business while you wait for repairs.

Now is also a good time to trim up trees and shrubs while they are dormant.  This is a good time of year because the nutrients are down in the roots so damage and negative side effects of trimming will not be a problem.
